100 of the Most Influential Women in Sport >> Boardroom & Administration

    Diana Edulji, India

    BCCI’s Committee of Administrators

Diana Edulji could have been content with retiring as India’s greatest women’s cricketer. Yet she’s arguably had more of an influence in her post-playing career. Since India’s Supreme Court appointed her to the BCCI’s Committee of Administrators in 2017, she’s been a unique figure of power: the lone woman in a committee which is overseeing all of Indian cricket. Edulji has used the platform her position has given her to speak out whenever necessary, from the day-to-day aspects of Indian cricket to the appointment of coaches and team managers to, recently, the way the #MeToo movement has intersected with cricket in India. Her legacy as a cricketer was already secure. But what she’s doing as an administrator may leave an even more indelible mark on the sport in India.
