Sheikh Hamdan opens new aquatic centre
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, yesterday inaugurated the Dubai Sports Complex. 

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, yesterday inaugurated the Dubai Sports Complex, a multi-purpose stadium which will host the 10th FINA Swimming Championships (25m) from December 15-19.
Sheikh Hamdan watched a documentary on the progress of construction of the complex which has the capacity to host 10 aquatic and dry games.
With a capacity to house 15,000 spectators, apart from aquatics it will be used for various purposes and will also be able to host dry sports events such as basketball, volleyball, netball, badminton, and social and exhibition events.
The opening ceremony was attended by Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development and Chairman of the General Authority of Youth and Sports Welfare, Mattar Al Tayer, Deputy Chairman of Dubai Sports Council and Hussein Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality.
