Spurs ace Dembele hails Chelsea's Lampard as a 'living legend'
Tottenham midfielder Moussa Dembele has admitted that Frank Lampard is one of his idols after describing the Chelsea star as a “living legend.”
Dembele is a new signing at Spurs having moved from Fulham for £15million in the summer, and the Belgian international has enjoyed a good start to his Tottenham career; scoring in his first appearance off the bench against Norwich and playing a central role in his side’s victory of the season over Reading.
Dembele was signed by Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas as the direct replacement for Croatian playmaker Luka Modric, who sealed a switch to Real Madrid in the summer.
But it is another Premier League star the 25-year-old looks up to in the form of Chelsea stalwart Lampard.
“I admire Frank,” said Dembele, who is set to line up for Spurs this afternoon when they play host to London rivals QPR.
“He is a living legend in my eyes.
“Lamps is so relaxed, I have met him about five times in the city.
“People look at him, but don’t mob him. That is why London is great.”
Lampard has rightly earned legendary status at Chelsea, making over 500 league appearances for the Blues and scoring 153 goals.
