French football club Paris Saint Germain has announced an exclusive two-year sponsorship deal with global sports company GO Sport.

GO Sport became the official partner of PSG from July 1 and will work alongside the Ligue 1 club as they look to propel themselves among Europe’s elite.

Jean-Claude Blanc, CEO of Paris Saint-Germain, has hailed the partnership and believes it will help build the PSG image around the world.

"We are very excited about this partnership with GO Sport,” he said.

“We believe that the image of PSG will bring a lot to GO Sport, but we also rely heavily on the brand to establish our presence in France and abroad.”

CEO of Groupe GO Sport, François Neukirch, echoed Blanc’s sentiment by declaring GO Sport is “delighted” with the arrangement.

“This partnership is an important step in our sales and marketing strategy,” he stated. “With us being devoted to football fans, this is another strong sign given by GO Sport to all football fans."

Following a takeover by Qatar Sporting Investments, a Qatari Royal family-owned company, in July 2011, PSG has invested heavily in new players in an attempt to dominate French football and become a force in European competition.

Their summer spending is underway in lavish style with the signings of Napoli forward Ezequiel Lavezzi for €25 million and AC Milan defender Thiago Silva in a deal worth a reported €40 million.
