The Oakley Super Series of events for 2011/12 will commence on October 15 and comprise running, open water swimming, aquathlons (running and swimming) and triathlons.

Taking place at various venues around Dubai and running until May next year, the opening event on October 15 will be a Super Run Series comprising of a 4km and 8km run, and begins at 6am at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel.

The Super Run events will run either monthly or bi-monthly until the middle of next year, while the Mena Mile swimming event has been slated for November this year and March next year, and will feature swims from 200m to 6.5 kilometres off the Le Meridien, Mina Seyahi.

Madinat Jumeirah will be the location for the aquathlon, which will run from November-April and feature a run and a swim, again at different distances, depending on your level of fitness.

“All our events are designed to satisfy and encourage mass participation in a competitive environment. Nobody is too young or too old, too fit or too unfit,” said Warren van der Merwe, events director at Super Sports, the event host.

“Our events have a special place for each and every person in the community who wish to challenge themselves by participating competitively or just for fun. Our events accommodate juniors and adults of all ages and abilities and are designed to encourage individual, team, family, school and corporate participation,” Van der Merwe added.
